Does Your Contractor Have His Or Her Act Together?

On your friendly Department of Labor and Industries website you can use the company name or owner’s name to do the following homework:

·         Verify if the contractor has an active license and Workers’ Compensation account

·         Verify if a tradesperson is certified (if required)

·         Verify if your contractor has any safety violations, citations, pending lawsuits, etc.

This is SUPER EASY and is SUPER TELLING. If any of the contractors you are interviewing aren’t in good standing on the basics, I wouldn’t want them adding a second story to my home!
