Ubaldi Addition
This West Seattle home is in a prime location and the owners, Kelly and Peter, don't want to give that up now that they need more space. Their family planning is also driving them to choose green materials to decrease the amount of toxic off-gassing present when finished. They want to add 3 bedrooms to a new second story, raise the house to gain headroom in the basement for a family play area, and gut the interior.
Peter and Kelly came to me with design ideas and wanted me to draw those, and offer another option for comparison. We are currently in the Design Development phase collaborating on all of the fun details, and Peter's service with the Seattle Fire Department inspired them to utilize an antique fireman's ladder as a pot rack above their new Kitchen island. Personal touches that get added to the design really make for a rich and gratifying experience and home.
